Amaranth Kheer

INGREDIENTS:

PREPARATION METHOD: ​

  • Rinse amaranth grains in a fine-meshed sieve or strainer.
  • Then add water, stir, and mix very well.
  • Pressure cook the grains on medium heat for 3 whistles. Once the pressure settles down on its own, only open the cooker’s lid.
  •  Now add milk to the pressure cooker. Stir the mixture very well.
  • Simmer on a low flame and stir at intervals so the kheer does not stick or get browned from the base 
  • Lastly, add jaggery, sliced almonds and cardamom powder, and simmer for 2 minutes more. Serve chilled.
