- Unpolished Kodo Millet (botanical name Paspalum scrobiculatum) is a drought-tolerant annual plant and can survive on marginal soils where other crops may not survive. Kodo is grown as a major food source in the Deccan plateau in India. Kodo Millet grains are elliptical to oval in shape. The color varies from blackish brown to dark brown in color. The size of the grain is about 3-4 mm in length
